Ashen Lady is the musical love child of Jeff and Jennifer Birkland. Their sound, characterized by guitar-driven, blues-infused rock, evocative lyrics, and a visually engaging multi-media show, reflects their combined musical influences. Jeff's inspiration derives from esteemed rock-guitar legends such as Ritchie Blackmore and Jimmy Page, both noted for their brilliant guitar riffs and showmanship. Meanwhile, Jennifer's vocal style is shaped by early influences including Karen Carpenter's melodic and distinctive voice, as well as the soulful and textured style of Bonnie Raitt.

An Ashen Lady show combines music and visual art to create an immersive experience, attracting rock fans and art lovers alike.

Ashen Lady released their debut EP, titled *Lucy*, in 2023 and are scheduled to release their first full-length album in early 2025. The self-titled album is a compilation of songs that span a spectrum of subjects and musical styles, including track 1, a hard rock tribute to the members of the 27 Club (*27*), track 4, a playful and cheeky love song (*Boogie My Woogie*), track 7, a soulful rock song about the reckoning  of losing someone (*A Good Man*), and track 10, a song inspired by the politics of the pandemic (*Hammer Down*).
